To Be or Not To Be: Is That the Question?

Commentary

Tsunami victims in Indonesia-Reuters

If there is one of  "us"  who believes that the recent Tsunami, another great tragedy affecting people of colour, is an act of God, think again. Over a half million black people have lost their lives so far and the numbers will continue to grow through disease and malnutrition. Whole islands of indigenous peoples, culture and knowledge are gone. God is not a vengeful God, not to people who only have God.  For what reason are they being punished? For being poor? For being black or people of colour? For taking up space?

It is very unfortunate but the white people who died were in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was not meant for them. They were "collateral damage". No, it was meant for the masses of coloured people, who were already victimized, poisoned, polluted and/or cast as "untouchables". These people were not rich. They do not steal or kill for fortune. They do not pollute the environment or create wars for conquest. Perhaps, it was to put them out of their misery as though they were animals. Who thinks like that?

For those who want to cling to the notion that no conspiracy exists, think again. I supposed God would strike exactly 59 minutes after midnight, (UTC) consolidated universal time, the day after his only "Begotten Son" was born, on the first day of Kwanzaa, Umoja, which is Swahili for Unity. I think not. The world is screaming in pain. I feel it, can't you?. Are you not angry yet? How many cheeks do you have? Or better yet, how many do you have left?

What is that you say? They don't have the means. Think again. The powers that be are becoming very sloppy in their haste to rid the world of us. They leave too many clues. This is what comes with souless arrogance. I implore you to reread our story. Those who fail to learn from past mistakes are certainly doomed to repeat them. Black people are taught there is only One Creator by whatever name you call Him/Her. What God are they listening to?
