“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”

There is a problem with the way that we respond to cancer. Conventional medicine tells us that malignant tumors and cancer are one and the same; but in fact, they are not. We have what could be called a tumor fetish or further, a tumor in our thinking, and it is because we insist on thinking that cancer is an 'Object' (i.e., a tumor) when in fact cancer is a 'Process'. And we think that getting rid of the object (or tumor) cures cancer. This approach is short sighted at best; and at worst, it takes our focus away from the real problem. In reality, the appearance of a malignant tumor can be likened to the ‘engine light’ that comes on in a car to alert the driver of a problem. The only time the ‘engine light’ comes on is after a problem has developed. Similarly, a tumor that is often said to be "the cancer" is really an indication (or symptom) of a deeper problem.
What do we do when a malignant tumor symptom is discovered? We typically proceed to remove it by using surgery and/or various poisonous drugs. But that’s a bit like poking the engine light to make it go out without looking into what made it go on. In other words, removing the tumor does not necessarily remove its cause. By ignoring the condition in the body that produced the tumor we mask the real problem of cancer. It is similar to a fireman focusing on eliminating the smoke instead of putting out the fire that caused the smoke.
There is something fundamentally wrong with this way of thinking about cancer, and it is time to ask some different questions. Instead of focusing only on getting rid of tumor symptoms, more attention should be given to changing the environment within our body to make it less cancer-friendly. We can turn off the ‘engine light’ by changing the chemistry in our body to make it more healthy and less conducive for the process of cancer to thrive.
Fact: an unhealthy environment within the body actually promotes cancer. Diet and lifestyle changes can be made to support health and healing. The ever-growing problem of cancer in all its forms is a constant reminder that we should seriously question the routine practice of removing tumor symptoms with drugs or surgery. This practice is at best only a short term solution and at worst a deadly exercise.
It is vitally important that we nourish our body with a high percentage of whole plant-based foods, live foods that are rich with their own digestive enzymes. These same foods can facilitate oxygen circulation at the cellular level. This helps transform an acid rich cancer-friendly body chemistry to a healthy (and slightly) alkaline body chemistry.
Consider the following recommendations for helping to prevent and overcome cancer:
** Do Not Eat foods that cancer cells consume with ease and convert into energy – such as refined sugar, high fructose corn syrup, refined flour, refined grains, and simple carbohydrates like white rice, macaroni, spaghetti, and pasta. The body quickly converts these foods into glucose, the main source of energy for cancer cells.
** Do No Eat foods that compromise the immune system, thus encouraging the growth of cancer cells. They include corn oil, soy oil, as well as other polyunsaturated and hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated oils, including margarine; also, aspartame, chemical preservatives, and food additives.
** Do Not Eat animal protein, especially meat, most dairy (including cheese and pasteurized milk, as they make body chemistry more acidic, and they weaken the all important immune system). Moreover, animal protein has no fiber and this contributes to sluggish bowel regularity. As a result, this makes for a more cancer-friendly environment.
** On the other hand, we should eat Super Foods like the ones about to be mentioned because they bolster the immune system, provide much needed fiber and antioxidants, and they create an alkaline environment rich in protein digesting enzymes and in oxygen. We are referring to foods like Garlic, Apricot Kernels, Asparagus, Deep Green Leafy Vegetables (e.g., collard greens, turnip greens, kale, and their freshly squeezed juices).
Note that leafy green vegetables are rich sources of magnesium and alkalizing and oxygen producing nutrients; Papaya and Papaya Seeds (rich in cancer fighting protein digesting enzymes); Pineapple; Turmeric spice, Green tea and Aloe Vera (strong anti-inflammatory and alkalizing foods); Seaweed (excellent source of much needed iodine and selenium); Essiac tea (body detoxifier); Legumes, which are complex carbohydrates like lima beans, lentils, and black-eyed peas; Soy Sprouts (a complete source of easily digestible protein that also promotes alkaline body chemistry); Antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables (including red bell peppers, yellow bell peppers, pomegranates, blackberries, figs, raspberries); Whole grains (mainly millet and oatmeal).
Diet and lifestyle changes can do a lot to empower each of us to deal effectively with cancer which is one of the most serious health concerns of our time.
“Each person carries his own doctor inside him. They come to us not knowing that truth. We are at our best when we give the doctor who resides in each patient a chance to go to work.”
